If he thinks it's a dream, he's not wrong. Maybe to him it's more like a nightmare he's not going to wake up from.
[Adam can talk as though Wonderland doesn't affect him the same way, because unlike Allison's new best friend, he's not looking for family or for a way home. This is the best reality's going to get.
And it's a damn sight better than the circumstances he'd come from. Before, there'd been no chance whatsoever of meeting people, even people he could like. In that sense, yeah, Allison is a special case.
Jokingly, he says:]
I don't want to have to see you in the clinic. It's nice and quiet when it's slow and there's nobody to stitch up.
Dream or not, walking around this place waiting to wake up is going to get you hurt, maybe even killed.
[ allison is much more of an in the moment sort of person. for now, she is here, which means she's going to make this the best time she can ( though she talks a bigger game than she acts ).
dream or no, nightmare or no, freaking out like ben had seemed to want to do would not help anyone. at least this way he wouldn't end up making more of a fool of himself. he'd, maybe, start to make friends.
allison got adam to warm up to her after a while, didn't she?
she ends up laughing a little at his joke, giving him a look. ]
[Welcome to Wonderland: Chicks Lay on The Hurt style.]
When being busy means someone's torn up or shot, or whatever else you can think of, a slow day isn't so bad. My stitches aren't terrible, but I don't need to see you guys in the clinic too soon.
[If Scott and Isaac are up in arms over this, she can pass that message along to them, too. Save everybody a couple of doctor visits.]
[ that has her eyes rolling, though it doesn't do anything to ease away the grin. is she kind of proud of herself? maybe. maybe just a little. ]
Either way, it worked. He's calmed down and won't hurt anyone. That's all that really matters, right?
[ the whole 'not causing others pain' bit and all.
he mentions stitches though and she goes a little pale, shaking her head. ]
I hate stitching. It's just... [ she sees scott's body, watches him fade in an out of consciousness. she shakes her head. ] If it helps, though, I tend to avoid puncture wounds.

[ she'd rather avoid that kind of violence, just because the idea of tranquilizing someone gives her weird vibes. hunter vibes. gerard vibes. ]
Maybe bruises are what he needs to keep reminding him about this reality. Would you keep those if you were dreaming? [ it's an idea.
she gives him a look, though. something between a really? and a grin. ]
Worried about me?

Are you saying you're enjoying slacking off?

Yeah, I think you proved that.

[Patching yourself up after a monster fight because you have no other choice is different than doing it because medicine is what you like.
He has to wonder what had been going through John's head the day his "accident" had brought him to the hospital.]
I don't know if that's all that reassuring...
